My Breath Story

" I have discovered a secret, and I am passionate about sharing it........feeling good IS just a few breaths away!

Transformational Breath® has allowed me to change a lifelong pattern of simply 'surviving' to one of 'thriving".

For me, 'surviving' showed up as a belief that you should put others first, work hard and do it all without making a fuss.  I tended to 'play safe', avoided uncomfortable situations and suppressed painful feelings but on the whole life was good; I was blessed with a gorgeous family, loyal and supportive friends, and a fulfilling job.

So why change?

Unfortunately, I hit a tough spell which shook my world and challenged me to reconsider my beliefs and approach to life.

The 'tough spell' ended up spanning several years, during which I suffered a series of painful and challenging life events.  I did my best to cope with each experience the only way I knew how, by suppressing the hurt and pain, not asking for help and trying to keep all parts of my life on track, in other words, simply surviving.

I pushed myself to the limit, but the cracks were showing and I ended up suffering a prolonged spell of burnout.  I thought I had successfully managed to numb the pain but in doing so I was unknowingly numbing joy and my body forced me to stop and reflect.  

How could I manage to support my family, fulfil the demands of my job and stay well? 

A change was required, so I decided to explore the world of self-care for answers and tried a variety of alternative and holistic therapies.

It was during this break that I stumbled across Transformational Breath® via a podcast.  Rebecca Dennis, a Transformational Breath® Facilitator, was explaining how this breathing technique could help improve your breathing, heal emotional pain and transform your overall well-being.  I was intrigued, felt drawn to learn more and just a few months later found myself attending a 6-day Transformational Breath® seminar.

 

I was as far out of my comfort zone as I could be, but I was curious to find out if breath work could be the self-care tool I was seeking.  It's hard to describe the impact of this week but as the name suggests it was simply transformative.  It was an overwhelming process at times, but ultimately positive and having arrived carrying a heavy cloak of sadness, I left with a sense of peace, energy and hope for what  lay ahead.

How had all this happened just from conscious, connected breathing?

Feeling good is addictive and I was driven by a need to learn more and to share this amazing, self-care healing tool with others. My experience has been a humbling one and I am grateful for all I have learnt. I would encourage others to take time out to reflect too.....you don't have to get ill to get better!

I have now completed my in-depth, two year training journey and have qualified as a Certified Transformational Breath® Facilitator.

I am excited about helping others understand the power and potential of their own breath and introducing Transformational Breath® as a tool to help you to manage your own well-being and support you with whatever you are experiencing in your own life.
